What is screendesign about?

Making a Design concept (incl. Visual layout) of a website. Building a website in HTML&CSS (Coding).

Learning goals:
Conceptual design orientated approach: Understanding the conceptual basics of screen design. Understanding the design process. How to make a page layout.
Technical design oriented approach: Gain practical experience on how to build a simple screen design from scratch using HTML & CSS (Coding). Learn how to make a page layout. Learn how to add text, images, video. Learn how to add navigation and interaction to a screen. Introduction to “Responsive Design” (Bootstrap). How to add a Facebook-Pixel to a website.
Students need to create screen designs for a website, presenting a product or service of one’s own choice. Project can be done individually or in a group of up to 4 persons. Language: English.
The project task consists of 2 parts:
1. Design concept (styleguide and wireframes, descriptions etc.)
2. Realization of the screen design with HTML & CSS

CAPULUS

Contents: Story, vision & mission, target group, inspiration, business plan, design values, logo, colour palette, fonts, font use, price, café gallery

Story: We have created a place to bring together local businesses and strengthen the community around us. We strive for serenity and love for conscious enjoyment. With great joy and passion for coffee, we use only the best and finest raw materials that we can be proud of.

Company’s name: The word ´Capulus´comes from Latin and carries the meaning of coffee. The word communicates a feeling, a delicious drink that, upon taste, makes any person’s day better.

Target group: Young adults, working students, women (Between 20-28)

Design Values: Quality, Consistency, Design

Sketches: We were seeking for a clean, simple and minimalistic design which would make the navigation easy and smooth. It was very simple to design the screens since we knew what we wanted from the beginning. Also, getting inspired by similar types of websites made the design process faster.
